Case study · Inventory Operations
Inventory Revolution
How I used Inventory Planner and closer operating discipline to reduce inventory held in my DTC business from about $300K to about $100K at its lowest.
All case studiesThe reported results
- Inventory held, approximately
- $300K → $100K
- Year-over-year growth, early 2023
- 108%
My DTC business. Inventory values are approximate; $100K was the lowest point reported. The 108% year-over-year growth covers the first months of 2023. These were results from planning software and operating decisions.
What needed to change.
My DTC business had about $300K tied up in inventory. I needed a clearer view of which products were moving and what to buy next, so less cash sat on the shelves.
What I did.
I used Inventory Planner to bring the sales and purchasing picture into focus, then used that information to change inventory decisions. Better purchasing decisions, supported by a clearer view of the business, were the operating work behind the result.
